Mrakoplas (Rincewind) is a band on the edge between genres of blues, boogie and folk. You can them regularly in Prague clubs Balbínova poetic tavern, Rybanaruby, Blues cellar, and at many summer festivals. They perform not only in its basic configuration (2 vocals, harmonica, guitar, bass, drums), but also very nice, chamber formation with light rhythm section, which is ideally suited to the smallest clubs and the acoustic stage. The guitarist and composer Honza Ponocný has been in a number of bands; his most noted presence being Circus Praha, a quartet he founded with Brad Stratton, who lived in Prague at the time. Ponocný would later become a support musician and composer for various pop-music celebrities although he would feel most compelled to run a private project. That “private project” is Circus Ponorka, a one-man-band the name of which amalgamates the name of his former band and the nickname he is known by to the world of music. Alice Springs Blues Band is a great band that every moment approaching the peak of the Czech music scene. Plays repertory, which for the most part written Alice Springs theme songs approaching normal everyday life, in which Alice can hear the rhythm, see the story but does not avoid borrowed songs from BB King and Robben Ford. Concerts of her blues band are carefully rehearsed, yet spontaneous and fiercely energetic. Alice Springs is one of the most talented muzikantek in Bohemia.
Wed Johnny is the only band in the Czech Republic playing jump-blues 50s. Wed Johnny (Jan Stehlik) formed the band in 2005, inspired by his travels to the USA. Prague metal band Doctor Triceratops was founded in 1986. Of the original founding members of the ensemble in the band now has a guitarist and bandleader Randy Michael Rotter. The band also during his tenure has changed from the original style of speed metal to modern sharp crossover. This transition was not painless. During the band’s work on the Czech scene in the file was replaced more than 25 musicians. The band plays only his own songs with Czech lyrics.
