Grammy nominated Hammond organist, Brian Charette, has established himself as a leading voice in modern jazz organ, working with many noteable artists such as Joni Mitchell, Chaka Khan, Lou Donaldson, and countless others. Since moving to New York in 1995 from his native Meriden, Connecticut, Charette has become an Integral part of the New York City jazz scene.
Karel Ruzicka, a composer and pianist, born in 1940 in Prague. Studied music at the State Conservatory in Prague from 1955 to 1960. Since the beginning of a career working with top Czechoslovak orchestras and the most important music bands.
The current body of FKQ is overflowing with famous names from czech jazz circles. Such as František Kop – saxophone, Petr Malásek – keyboard, Martin Lehký - bass guitar, Pavel Bady Zbořil – drums. Apart from standard jazz the band performs their own work of perfect individual composition. The music field this band covers is unusually wide, inspired by various music influences. Eva Emingerova, considered to be one of the best Czech jazz singers, is now in a great demand. In her youth, her musical foundation was much influenced by her father. Later, after a successful career as a sports woman, she was able to focus fully on her singing and moved on to study at a conservatoire. In terms of her evolution, she moved from the early – 20’s jazz, through dixieland, swing and mainstream, up to modern jazz.
