Gera Band was founded in 1981 as a quartet. The instrumentation – mostly acoustic – not using any so-called harmonic instrument, which significantly contributed to its characteristic sound. B4’s musical output ranges from ambient, urban ethno, dub and post-rock to trip hop and jazz. After 2010, B4 became something like a power quartet that delivers a wild mix of krautrock, noise and psychedelic. Everything is thickly wrapped into space effects and electronic buzz. The music B4 plays is quite unusual in the Czech scene as it is always co-authored by the interest of the audience. The name Dikolson refers to the composer and musician Filip Míšek whom the audiences may know from the former electronic indie trio Khoiba. In his new project that resulted in the record The Bear is Sleeping Now (2011) Míšek acts as an author of ear-catching and uplifting electronica tracks with elements of orchestral music. He also uses a broad range of acoustic instruments, works with elegant resonance and in the end he gets melodies that are frayed in various distinctive and seducing ways. Although singer Lee Andrew Davison originally comes from Oklahoma, U.S.A., he has lived in Prague since 1991. He sings with many jazz bands and musicians but, unfortunately, the wider audience hardly knows him. Apart from his own shows, he takes part of Brno Philharmonic Orchestra.
