Mrakoplas (Rincewind) is a band on the edge between genres of blues, boogie and folk. You can them regularly in Prague clubs Balbínova poetic tavern, Rybanaruby, Blues cellar, and at many summer festivals. They perform not only in its basic configuration (2 vocals, harmonica, guitar, bass, drums), but also very nice, chamber formation with light rhythm section, which is ideally suited to the smallest clubs and the acoustic stage. This band plays music spiced with the author’s world-famous tracks, which adds to his repertoire in the three-hour long show.
Rene Trossman is a guitar player with a long history in Blues Music. Since turning pro in 1985 Rene has just about done it all. The fantastic Chicago club scene, where he was a regular at both South Side and West Side clubs, playing with the likes of Buddy Scott, Byther Smith, Lurrie Bell, Iceman Robinson, Little Mack Simmons, Lorenzo Thompson, Deitra Farr, and others.
The band Limited Edition, the founder of which is the pianist and composer Jan Hála, first showed up on the Czech Jazz Scene in 2001. The group had been introduced as a jazz antipode of Hála’s fusion formation Hot Line and this also influenced the acoustic setup – originally with two wind instruments. Outstanding Prague jazz musicians gathered in Limited Edition: Hála brought in a splendid saxophonist Rostislav Fraš and a drummer Pavel Razím from Hot Line, bass player Vít Švec and Přemysl Tomšíček on trombone are two other jazz celebrities.
Canadian Jonathan Gaudet brings new life into traditional blues classics in all their energetic performances. His coarse and fine voice, slide guitar style and Amistar resonator Tricon takes you on a journey through space and time in music. The trio performs their own songs and newly adapted standards. Mostly, they focus on concerts and the accompanying domestic and international soloists. Trio regularly performs at Prague’s Reduta and also often abroad, especially in Germany. Trio released in November 2008 a new CD called Seven Dreams, which was filmed at the spring concert performances in Germany.
The performance of a group of hunks with Thomas often met with pleas of listeners, whether they sang some songs from the golden era of Czech Country, where he worked in the legendary skupně Greenhorns. Because the repertoire did not allow this hunk he began to entertain the idea of creating a new custom band, with which they could play and sing songs. So said the then leader of the bluegrass group Torso Charles Mrkvicka that would not give together a group that would go into it. Martin Fišerová studied jazz singing at the Jaroslav Jezek College in Prague. As a singer gathers experience from around 2002, the band BlueSense long collaborated with jazz-rock impulse, with Laco and his Déczim Celula New York, with a trio of Walter Fischbacher, with acid-jazz group, Jan Kořínek and Groove or with a group Rajnošek Band.
